Gweb Rules and Policies

Gweb is an open platform for sharing ideas from diverse writers, thinkers, and storytellers. We encourage thoughtful and respectful discussion from all viewpoints, but certain behaviors are not allowed to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.

When evaluating rule violations, we consider factors such as newsworthiness, context, potential harm, account history, and relevant laws. Violations may lead to actions like account restrictions or content removal. Gweb reserves the final say on rule enforcement.

If you encounter any content or behavior that violates our guidelines, you can report it by submitting a detailed report through this link. Our team will review your submission and take appropriate action to ensure the platform remains safe and welcoming for all users.

Rules

Gweb is dedicated to fostering a positive public discourse. Behaviors such as violence, harassment, and other harmful actions hinder individuals from expressing themselves, which ultimately undermines the quality of global conversations. Our rules are designed to create a space where everyone can engage in discussions openly and safely.

Violence and Incitement Threats

Content or actions that threaten, incite, or encourage violence, whether explicitly or implicitly, are strictly prohibited. This includes any material that promotes harm, endangers individuals or groups, or advocates for violent behavior in any form. We do not tolerate content that seeks to provoke, glorify, or justify violence, nor will we allow any indirect encouragement of such actions through language, imagery, or any other means. Our goal is to maintain a platform where safety and respect are prioritized, and all forms of violence or aggression are actively discouraged.

Hate Speech and Discrimination

We prohibit content that promotes violence, harassment, or hatred based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, disability, disease, age, sexual orientation, gender, or gender identity. This includes:

  • Glorifying, trivializing, or downplaying violence, abuse, suffering, or deaths.
  • Using misleading claims to dehumanize or disempower others.
  • Calls for intolerance or segregation based on protected characteristics.
  • Targeting others with slurs, harmful stereotypes, or degrading language.
  • Hateful symbols or content in usernames, profiles, or bios are also prohibited.

Harassment and Bullying

Gweb is a platform for sharing and discussing ideas. Harassment is not tolerated and includes:

  • Bullying, threatening, mocking, or shaming someone, or encouraging others to do so.
  • Engaging in repeated or targeted harassment of individuals or groups.
  • Using derogatory language, racial slurs, or obscenities to attack others.
  • Misusing features like responses, mentions, or follows to annoy or harass, or to draw fake attention to your content.

Privacy and Personal Reputation

We do not allow:

  • Sharing private communications without the explicit consent of all parties involved, even with redacted details.
  • Doxing, which includes sharing personal or aggregated public information to harm or endanger others.
  • Posting intimate images without the subject’s explicit consent.
  • Sharing sensitive or confidential information, such as credit card details, non-public addresses, or other private data.

Restricted Content Categories

We do not allow posts or accounts that engage in the following activities:

  • Promoting controversial, extreme, or suspect content.
  • Facilitating gambling, betting, or the sale of social media interactions.
  • Facilitating sexual services or intellectual property violations.
  • Facilitating or violating the Terms of Service of Gweb or third party.
  • Writing abusive reviews of businesses or products.
  • Promoting illegal hacking or content that compromises public safety, such as disinformation or pseudoscience.

Associated Misconduct

Content or accounts involved in harassment, hate speech, violence, or disinformation – whether on or off Gweb – are prohibited. Off-platform behavior may impact account status.

Adult and Explicit Content

We believe adults should have the freedom to create, share, and consume consensual sexual content, including erotic writing, as a form of artistic expression. We protect this freedom while limiting access for children and users who opt out of such content. We prohibit content that promotes exploitation, nonconsent, harm to minors, or obscene behavior, and restrict Adult Content from highly visible areas like profile photos or banners. Pornographic images or videos are not allowed.

Graphic and Violent Material

We restrict content that is excessively graphic, including images or descriptions of explicit violence, injury, or suffering. Such material, which can be disturbing or traumatic, is not allowed unless it serves a clear educational, artistic, or documentary purpose. We aim to create a respectful environment by limiting the exposure of graphic content, especially in public or easily visible spaces like profile photos and banners. Any content that violates these guidelines will be removed to ensure the safety and well-being of all users.

Exploitation of Minors

We have a zero-tolerance policy for content that promotes the sexual, violent, or any other form of exploitation of minors. This includes any depiction or sexualization of fictional minors. Such content is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate action.

Promotion of Harmful Behavior

Content that encourages, promotes, or glorifies self-harm (such as cutting, eating disorders, or suicide) is strictly prohibited. If you encounter any users expressing intentions of self-harm, please report them immediately so we can provide appropriate support and take necessary action.

Duplicate Content

Publishing duplicate content, whether from a single account or multiple accounts, is strictly prohibited. This includes reposting the same material, using identical or significantly similar text, images, or media across different posts, or submitting content that has been copied from other sources without proper attribution or modification. To maintain the quality and integrity of our platform, all submissions must be original, unique, and contribute new value. Repeated violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or further action.

Spam and Platform Misuse

Spam or misuse of Gweb will be removed without warning. Examples include:

  • Posting content primarily to drive traffic to external sites or boost search rankings.
  • Scraping and reposting content for revenue or personal gain.
  • Posting duplicate content.
  • Linking articles that require external clicks to view in full.
  • Engaging in excessive or automated interactions (e.g., follow spam).
  • Misusing responses, mentions, or interactions for promotion.
  • Participating in campaigns to artificially boost rankings.
  • Using content templates with minimal changes across posts.

“Content” includes any posts, text, or media, and “interactions” include any form of engagement between users.

Intellectual Property Violations

Users are required to respect the copyrights and trademarks of others. You must have proper permission or rights to post any content you share on Gweb. Violations of these copyright rules are taken very seriously and are not eligible for warnings, appeals, or account restoration. Deleting infringing content will not reverse the consequences, including permanent account suspension. Always ensure that the content you publish complies with copyright and trademark laws to avoid violations.

Deceptive or Fraudulent Practices

Deceptive behavior is prohibited, including:

  • Impersonating individuals or organizations to deceive others (parody and satire are allowed if clearly labeled).
  • Engaging in phishing, fraud, or using misleading tags, links, or metadata.
  • Embedding harmful code or using deception to generate traffic or revenue.
  • Failing to disclose if you’ve received goods, services, or anything of value related to a post.

Advertisements, Promotions, and Marketing Policies

  • You may promote your own business, website, mailing list, or fundraiser.
  • Third-party ads or sponsorships are not allowed.
  • Affiliate links (e.g., Amazon) are permitted, but you must disclose their use in your post.

Embedded Media and Personal Data Collection

To protect user privacy, embedded content on Gweb must follow these guidelines:

  • Embeds that collect personal data (e.g., email addresses, credit card information) through Gweb are not allowed.
  • If linking to a form outside Gweb, the form must inform users they have left Gweb and are subject to the third-party’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
  • If linking to your own platform (e.g., for newsletter subscriptions), disclose near the link that it leads offsite.
  • If a form collects user information for you or a third party, disclose that the data will be sent offsite and subject to third-party policies.

Automated, Paid, or Non-Genuine Engagements

Artificial actions that distort Gweb’s system are prohibited, including:

  • Buying, selling, or trading views, follows, bookmarks, or other interactions.
  • Using apps or services to increase engagement artificially.
  • Automatically or programmatically registering accounts or posting content.

Financial Content Disclaimer

Gweb does not verify, endorse, or guarantee the legitimacy of any coin, token, financial advice, or related content shared on the platform. Users should exercise caution and conduct their own research before engaging with or acting on any financial information. Gweb is not responsible for any financial decisions or outcomes based on content found on the platform.

Service Usage Restrictions

You agree not to, nor cause a third party to, do any of the following without Gweb’s written consent:

  1. Access or tamper with non-public areas of the Services, Gweb’s systems, or its technical providers.
  2. Use any means other than Gweb’s published interfaces (e.g., APIs) to access or search the Services.
  3. Forge headers or use the Services to send altered or deceptive source-identifying information.
  4. Use the Services in a way that could disable, overburden, or impair them, or interfere with others’ use.
  5. Use automated tools (e.g., bots, scripts, crawlers) to access, scrape, or copy data or content from the Services.
  6. Use manual processes to monitor or copy data or content for unauthorized purposes.

  8. Attempt any other interference with the proper operation of the Services.

Consequences of Breaking the Rules

Violating Gweb’s rules can result in various actions, including content removal, account suspension, or permanent bans, depending on the severity of the violation. In some cases, violations may not be eligible for warnings or appeals. Continued disregard for the rules, including attempts to bypass restrictions or create new accounts after suspension, will lead to stricter penalties. Our goal is to maintain a safe and respectful community, and we take violations seriously to protect all users.

Notice

In most cases, we will try to inform you if your content is being investigated or removed to ensure transparency and open communication. However, exceptions may apply if your account appears to be automated, demonstrates bad-faith behavior, or if notifying you could cause additional harm to the community or individuals.

Dispute and Appeal Process

If you believe your content or account was restricted in error or feel there is additional context we may have overlooked, you have the option to appeal. Please submit your appeal here, and we will carefully review all good-faith appeals. While we strive to make fair decisions, not all appeals will result in changes, and our priority remains upholding the platform’s guidelines to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all users.

Government Content Removal Requests

If we receive a government request to remove content, we will notify you unless doing so is prohibited by law or could endanger others. Gweb aims to limit legally mandated content restrictions to the specific jurisdictions where they are required, ensuring the least possible impact on our global platform.

General Provisions

Gweb reserves the right to enforce or waive these policies at our discretion. These rules do not create any legal obligation for us to take action in every case. We may update or modify these policies at any time to reflect changes in our platform or community standards.

Our commitment is to maintaining a transparent, open platform for expression while ensuring a respectful and safe environment for all users.
